City Hall Gardening

During my internship with Colorado Spring’s Office of Innovation and Sustainability, we completed major gardening to City Hall’s flower beds. Before any work was done, there was just dirt and trash. Since we are the Office of Sustainability, we partnered with Colorado Springs Utilities to create flower beds that use water wise landscaping.
Bestway Disposal’s Material Recovery Facility Help

During my internship, we had the opportunity to tour and then help for a little while in Bestway’s Disposal Recycling factory. Most of the materials that are recycled are sorted by hand into the correct pile of materials before it can be shipped back out.
Springs Rescue Mission Halfway House Cleanup

During a class, we completed a community outreach day where we toured the Springs Rescue Mission and then assisted with a cleanup for one of their halfway houses. There were many weeds and overgrown bushes that we got rid of and got all the trash cleaned up around the house.
